Riyad Seewan, Head Chef
Born and raised in Sydney, Riyad’s love of cooking can be attributed to his fond memories of Middle Eastern aromas and smells while cooking in the kitchen with his mother. Upon finishing his higher education, Riyad wasted no time getting straight into a kitchen, knowing full well his only wish was to become a chef.
Having worked at Sydney-based restaurants, Atavola and Canelori’s before moving to Nour in Surry Hills. Riyad was at the helm before moving next door to head up the latest venue in the ESCA portfolio, Henrietta in 2020.
Riyad brings his extensive knowledge of Middle Eastern flavours to Henrietta, elevating the much-loved chook to new highs, alongside classic dishes like fattoush, hummus and tabbouleh.
