Friday April 30, 6:00pm – 9:30pm

Returning for a third serving EMC, Lazydaze and the Australian National Maritime Museum are pleased to bring you ‘Audamus 003’ – an exclusive alfresco event hosted on the HMAS Vampire. One of the first all-welded ships built in Australia, HMAS Vampire was constructed at Cockatoo Island Dockyard in the 1950s and today features as a permanent exhibition at the Maritime Museum. The name Audamus comes from the ship’s motto (Latin meaning: ‘Let us be daring’).
A unique sound and culinary experience, Audamus is held on the helicopter landing pad of the HMAS Vampire set against a stunning Barangaroo backdrop. The relaxed and intimate heli-pad picnic juxtaposes the naval setting. A line-up of well-loved Australian artists will perform live ambient/downtempo/electronica accompanied by the food and drinks specially curated by Riyad Seewan of Middle Eatern restaurant Henrietta. Ticket price includes entertainment, sunset arrival drink and a gourmet picnic including food and two glasses of paired wine. (Non-alcoholic options available)

FOOD BY

Riyad Seewan, Head Chef

Born and raised in Sydney, Riyad’s love of cooking can be attributed to his fond memories of Middle Eastern aromas and smells while cooking in the kitchen with his mother. Upon finishing his higher education, Riyad wasted no time getting straight into a kitchen, knowing full well his only wish was to become a chef.

Having worked at Sydney-based restaurants, Atavola and Canelori’s before moving to Nour in Surry Hills. Riyad was at the helm before moving next door to head up the latest venue in the ESCA portfolio, Henrietta in 2020.

Riyad brings his extensive knowledge of Middle Eastern flavours to Henrietta, elevating the much-loved chook to new highs, alongside classic dishes like fattoush, hummus and tabbouleh.
