Levi Voorwinden is the Music Recognition Technology (MRT) Coordinator for APRA AMCOS with nine years of experience in the field of MRT used in the (electronic) music rights ecosystem.
He is a long-term advocate of enhancing the way how Collective Management Organisation (CMO’s) collect data from electronic music events and nightclubs to distribute collected license fees to the rightsholders of music actually played within the electronic music community.
As one of the first employees of the Dutch MRT start-up DJ Monitor back in 2010, he was closely involved with expanding the use of MRT by Dutch event promoters, the introduction of MRT into the nightclub environment in collaboration with APRA AMCOS and growing DJ Monitor’s business internationally.
In 2017 he moved to Australia from his home country the Netherlands to work directly for APRA AMCOS to expand the adoption of MRT and Pioneer KUVO in nightclubs and electronic music events across Australia.
Levi has a wealth of hands-on-experience and provided MRT at 100+ electronic music events such as Mysterland (NL/USA), Awakenings (NL), Defqon (NL), A State of Trance (NL), Tomorrowland (BE), Rampage (BE), The Peacock Society (FR), Hospitality at the Docks (UK), Listen-Out (AU), Lost Paradise (AU), Babylon Festival (AU) and Pitch Music & Arts (AU).
