Paris has worked as a music journalist for some 25 years, writing for nearly every Australian music publication that has appeared and then disappeared over the decades, as well as being a regular writer with the Sydney Morning Herald and other Fairfax publications.
Besides being a club DJ and a member of the Afrobrasiliana crew, he has been on Sydney’s airwaves weekly for over 20 years presenting dance/electronic-related radio programs for FBi 94.5, Eastside 89.7 and SBS Alchemy, his current program Jumping The Gap show on Sydney’s 2SER 107.3FM has been running weekly for over 11 years. In 1998 he co-founded the Groovescooter record label, mainly focusing on dance, electronic and jazz related releases. These days Groovescooter is also a boutique events company which specialises in premiering music-related documentaries in Australia, working with numerous festivals, and producing a number of its own flagship events including an international music-talks series and a music-related art-exhibition program.
Paris began his music career back in the ’80s as a bass-player fixated with the emerging sounds of synths and machined rhythms while working with numerous bands. He continues to produce and remix music under various aliases.
